The Hanged Man Tarot Card Meaning

The Hanged Man tarot card asks us to stop and look at the situation from a new point of view.  It reminds us that sometimes being caught up is the whole point.

Onward from the road of Justice it may seem as if we have snared a trap hoisting us up by one leg to watch the world unfold beneath us. Powerless and I imagine feeling quite odd from hanging upside down by one leg.

We come upon the figure on the Hanged Man after the unrest of finding themselves strung up by invisible forces.  We find them calm and comfortable with a bright light around their head reminding us the best ideas come from the most unexpected places.

If the Hanged Man ends up in your reading and he is the solo card of the day it would be asking for a pause, or warning of a pause ahead that may seem a nuisance at first.  It is a time to ask where you are just running on the same routine over and over again? Where are you stuck? It is asking where you have stopped looking for solutions in staying still?

The Hanged man needs a pause to gather the momentum to set off onto the next card which is all about letting go of the old, and finding joy in the things that are over.

The road of the tarot has taken us to find our cause vindicated in card eleven only to lead us into the uncomfortable rest stop of card twelve.

The point of view we can acquire in card twelve will make the shock of card thirteen so much easier to go through, but it requires surrender.

If your reading gives you the Hanged Man reverse be weary of where you are not letting go and allowing the world to run the adventure.

The Hanged Man can tell you when things you wanted may be held up including change in your own circumstances. There is more to learn and we cannot rush ahead or we can, but all that is waiting is the reaper.

The Hanged Man can tell you when you need a pause, but it can also tell you when you have paused too much for the good of everyone else. The Hanged Man comes with a martyr complex. The responsibility to show the world how good they are at suffering as the hang upside down with no tip cup with a Venmo link beneath. A great Martyr Hanged Man moment would be Katniss Everdeen standing up to save her sister from the Hunger Games and going in herself. She paused the trajectory of her life for better or worse to save someone whom she held close to her heart and human experience.

The issue with the Hanged Man is the card is not good or bad it just is. We cannot tell if the pause is necessary or a stall on our life path without exploring the other cards around it.

If you get a lot of cups watch your feelings.

If it shows up with a lot of wands where are you holding back creative action or where do you need a pause to recess what that creative flare even means to you.

A plethora of pentacles how are you holding up your flow of material is it a self reflection thing or a group you choose to associate with thing?

Many swords then take a BREAK and let the hang up be the medicine you need to sort out your mind and escape the rat race of keeping up with the society standards.

The Hanged Man is a lesson a stop on the way that noone looks for, but may end up leaving you with enough courage and perspective to let the next step on the road change everything for you.
