Marketing, Mysticism & Minivans—Oh My!

About Me

I am a first generation American. My Parents came over on a boat from Portugal and assimilated in to white America with intention and force fueled by what they saw on Soap Operas.

I am a catholic school girl. I went to a cartholic school my entire lower education, and was an altar girl for most of it. I was fat girl bullied for a good portion of elementary school.

I once poured a soda on a girls head at a New Kids in the Block Concert because she kept screaming for Jordan Knight and the man was mine.

Hulk Hogan was the first man to ever break my heart at Wrestlemania 6 when he lost to the ultimate Warrior.

My first best friends were books, and that is still my favorite safe space to crawl into. I am a serious reader. I may have read Stephen King way to early, but it must be expected from a Fear Street Fanatic.

The first CD I bought was TLC “ohh on the tlc tip”

In highschool I worked at Record Town in the Mall and we would get all this awesome promotional stuff. I used my seniority to claim the Britney Spears “Slave For You” posters, and anything DMX.

All these things and so many more have shaped me into the vibrant, well read, astrology first living,  maverick I am today.

Modern Day you can find me still swooning for Professional wrestling but these days I watch it with a fully intact heart next to my loving husband, while my children play “moms watching wrestling bingo” in their rooms.

I am still reading, with a pet near by and a good reads goal to crush.

My husband and I work together running the family business http://www.blackdoorcreative.com
